Our mission

We bring UT Dallas students together to support and connect with residents of local nursing homes. That looks like care kits, handwritten cards, time spent together, and the fundraising that helps make it possible.

Why nursing homes?

Residents are too often overlooked. Many facilities work with tight staffing and limited resources, and social isolation can take a real toll on quality of life.

That isn't a knock on the people who work there. It's a reason for the rest of us to show up, too. Residents deserve more connection, attention, and care, and students can offer some of that.

our signs say it too

Why cookies?

A cookie is small, easy to share, and hard to turn down. Bake sales are one of the ways we raise support, and the name is a reminder of what we believe: no act is too small to be worth doing.

Since Fall 2024

Our story

One Good Cookie began in Fall 2024 as a student-led organization dedicated to supporting nursing-home populations through service, connection, fundraising, and awareness.

Small acts start with people who show up.
